At MMHF, we believe the fastest path to more attainable housing is through innovation. We partner with and invest in entrepreneurs and innovators who are reinventing how homes are designed, manufactured, and assembled. These companies are developing the tools, materials, and processes that reduce the time and cost to build and need connections to real-world projects, capital, or other resources to grow and scale their ideas and businesses.

Our investments of time and financial resources include HumanKind Homes, which has developed a carbon-negative interlocking concrete block system designed for automated, AI-assisted assembly that dramatically reduces labor and build time; Unbrick, a Netherlands-based company bringing industrialized modular construction to the Pacific Northwest, building homes off-site in factory settings and assembling them on-site in a matter of days; and Elemental Building Technologies, which produces fire-resistant steel frame modular homes engineered for faster, safer construction at workforce housing price points.

HumanKind Homes and Elemental Building Technologies will both serve as featured builders in HIVE, our Housing Innovation Village Experience in Newberg, Oregon. HIVE is designed to be a real-world proving ground where innovative construction technologies are deployed side by side, demonstrating that attainable homes can be built better, faster, and at lower cost.
